How to apply for a tax card?
You must have a tax card if you receive taxable income, claim budget support or, for example, are self-employed in Hungary (as a sole proprietor).
You can apply for a tax card by submitting form no. T34 available on the website of NTCA.
You can submit the form on paper - by post or in person - at any of the NTCA directorates. Electronic submission is also possible if you have a KÜNY account (i.e. Central Register of Client Registrations). If you do not already have a tax identification number (tax code for individuals), you can apply for one in person or by post.
There is no charge for issuing a tax card for the first time. In the case of replacement, a fee of HUF 3,000 is charged for the new card if the old one is lost, damaged or destroyed.
NTCA will prepare and mail the tax card within 15 days.
You can request a certificate of the tax identification number, which will completely replace the tax card until you receive it.
Please return the found or damaged tax card to NTCA.
